Self Catering Traditional Croft Cottage on Skye

Idyllically situated traditional Skye croft cottage by the sea shore with stunning views of the Cuillin Hills.

The cottage has double and twin bedrooms upstairs. The new Sunroom is an ideal place to relax or dine and enjoy views to the sea shore where seals bask on the rocks.The well insulated cottage has a cosy open fire in the living room and a solid fuel stove provides hot water and central heating.

There is a spacious, enclosed garden with patio area - ideal for children.

Peinachorran is part of a township called The Braes, historically famous following the battle over land there during the 19th century. The town of Portree, capital of Skye, is about fifteen minutes drive from the cottage, and there you can find a host of amenities including swimming pool, cinema and a variety of restaurants and shops.

Climbing, walking and sight-seeing are all available on the doorstep. Wildlife is all around you. From the sun room you can watch seals laze on a rock at the waters edge. When you are out, always keep an eye out for a glimpse of an otter, a golden eagle, or even a sea eagle. The deserted shore of Loch Sligachan, ideal for beach combing is a short stroll.  A sandy beach ideal for swimming and picnics is also within easy reach.

Bedroom 2: Two single beds.

Garden
The large garden is completely enclosed, it has a picnic table with seating, ideal for families. The croft leads down to the loch side, and you are free to walk anywhere in the township and on the seashore.

Heating
A solid fuel stove in the kitchen heats water and radiators in every room. During the summer, the stove is usually not required as the house is well insulated. An immersion heater provides hot water, and in the evenings the open fire in the living room will keep you cosy.There are additional portable heaters if required.

Directions - How to get to Peinachorran
(1) From the Skye bridge, follow signs to Portree (28 miles).
(2) 2 miles before Portree, which you will see in the distance, turn RIGHT to Braes.
(3) Go STRAIGHT along single track road for 3/4 mile to junction.
(4) Turn RIGHT, following sign for Braes.
(5) Keep going STRAIGHT along single track road for 6 miles, right to the end of the road.
(6) TURN at parking place and COME BACK 3 houses to tin roofed cottage with large tree in garden.
